Character Bio

Bratney Janus was born among the stars to her Human mother, a Vanguard scientist, and Human/Kheldian father during an extended interplanetary experiment.   When she was just six years old, something went catastrophically wrong on their laboratory.  While her father struggled to maintain the ship's integrity, her mother was able to seal Bratney inside one of the landing pods only seconds before the implosion, and she drifted alone.    It was weeks before the recovery team finally arrived from Earth, and all hope for survivors had long faded.  Yet there they found her, alive and healthy, sleeping soundly inside the pod, enveloped by a darkly glowing orb, in appearance like the essence on a nictus.  That was 10 years ago, Bratney never gained the full power of the Warshade, but she has become quite the celebrity as the "Celebrity Starbrat".  And to be fair, she does rock out.
