Mindstryker was originally a PPD Psi-Lieutenant, but was dismissed from the force and jailed after being framed for a crime. He spent three years in the Zig trying to survive and clear his name, and with some help, he finally brought the crooked cop to justice. His courage, determination, and power attracted the notice of Vanguard, who approached him, offering him a place in their ranks. He accepted, provided that he'd also be allowed to act independently as a hero when not actively deployed by Vanguard. At this point, he has worked himself up to the rank of Colonel in the Gauntlet Division.
