Character Bio

Rapa Nui, known as Easter Island to Europeans, is the most remote inhabited place on earth. Settled by Polynesians, who called it the Navel of the World, it became home to a remarkable culture that developed the only written language in Polynesia. The inhabitants raised huge stone statues known as Moai, facing the sea, to protect the volcanic island from harm.

But their population grew, and deforestation stripped their resources. Eventually, constant warfare between "the men with the bloodied hands" shattered their civilization, and the Moai were toppled deliberately. By the 1800s, only 111 humans remained out of about 7,000, and the written language was already forgottten.

Today many of the statues have been restored. The reborn powers of the Moai still
seek to protect man from harm, but Rapa Nui has become an evil place even to
them. Therefore they have sent their spirit forth from that place to protect us all.

The half-man, half-moa calls himself Easter Island.
