Character Bio

Gabriel Tyler, the Well-Tempered Mind, had an illustrious heritage... not just as a son of British metahuman Lord Fire, but as a part of a line of pyrokinetics that stretched back to the late 1800's. With his elder brother Jacob the intended heir to his father's title, Gabriel had free rein to take his own path through life.
Certain events during his military service led to his pursuing a career in espionage. Proud of his contributions there, he worked hard to develop his metahuman abilities along lines that would support that line of work. As the scope of his abilities continued to grow, however, he found that his brand of pyrotechics, though far less flamboyant than the overt manifestations of father and brother, was nonetheless too flash for him to maintain a low profile.
Rather than limit his potential, he opted for a more public identity, allowing him to stake out a useful middle ground between his clandestine work and spandex superheroics.
