She liked to tinker and fix things when she was growing up. Never mind that she probably broke it to begin with....
While she was growing up, she found herself frustrated she couldn't just 'fix' the people who had gotten hurt one way or another. So she learned, she dabbled - and then she could, physically.
She learned, though, that there were some scars she couldn't physically heal. Scars of the mind. That just would not do...
A prolific inventor of devices "to fix society's ills," she found some refused to be fixed, some insisted on hurting others.
So she took her devices and vowed to fix that, too.
