Character Bio

This is the story of the largest goblin in the forest, cruel and rapacious, so strong he could stand unharmed in the deadly light of day.

One day, while all the other goblins hid from the Moon That Burns, the great goblin wandered the forest, torturing small animals and poisoning flowers. In a clearing, he spied a human girl.

Now you may think you know what happens when a particularly vicious goblin finds an unprotected human child, but this is not that kind of story.

He watched her from hiding all day, feeling things he had never felt before. Finally he approached her.

"Little girl, I beg one kiss."

"Oh!" she said. "I will not! You are most cruel -- what are you doing to that poor toad?"

The goblin shoved the toad behind his back. Then he did something he had never done before. He said, "Please."

"Perhaps if you were a GOOD goblin..." the little girl considered. "Very well. If you do nothing but good deeds for a year and a day, I will grant you ONE kiss."

He bowed.
