Character Bio

Originally, Zavassa was a human, a knight of the Templars who fought in the Crusades. He stumbled upon a group of cultists and was taken by surprise by them. They tried to use him as the host for a summoned demonic entity, forcing the thing to possess the knight. Something went wrong, leaving the knight not dead, like the cultists had intended, and the demon not fully in control of the human body. Worse, the magical misfire had warped the knight's body into a fusion of man and demon. In much the same way, the ritual left their minds and souls fused together. The ritual also had another minor side effect, it collapsed the cavern the cultists held the ritual in, burying the whole lot of them. The cultists died, but Zavassa only slipped into a topor, protected by the residual magics of the ceremony, sleeping until he was awakened by a treasure-hunter. Awake again, but weak, Zavassa fled and went on a spree of stealing mystical items to increase his power, at least until he was captured and tossed in Zig.
