Character Bio

A century ago, on the outskirts of a village...

The woman labored terribly under a double burden, bleeding badly. Warmth flowed from a light man's hands to ease her pain, and blood dripped from a dark man's shadow to replace what was lost. After long hours, a boy was born, and the churchbells in the village rang. A girl followed, and all the dogs of the village howled. Her strength spent, the woman who had seduced an angel and taught a demon to love lay dead.

The children were left with the midwife, and grew swiftly in power. The boy sought the healing arts. The girl ventured into dark places for the deadly secrets that lay within. One day she failed to return; the boy followed her, and both vanished from the ken of men.

Decades pass...

The great city grows, and still the children are lost. Then the Rikti came, their weapons stabbing downward, gouging a great rift in the earth. A single slim figure crawled toward the light.
