M'Bala N'Gotu was almost as proud of his Bantu heritage as he was of his 20 year retirement from the United States Marine Corps. Nicknamed "Go To" in the Corps because he was the man who they knew would get the job done, he kept that attitude when he got out. Making a living as the owner and chief consultant of a technical consultation and engineering firm for Paragon Power & Light, The Terra Volta Corporation, Portal Corp, and many other high tech businesses he had settled down with his family in comfort. Until he lost his family in the Rikti invasion that is. N'Gotu took his technical expertise and crafted himself super powers. Supported by his consulting firm, the loss of his family has left him no life or purpose outside of restoring order to the streets of Paragon City.
