It's the beginning of the 21st century. The tech level's 'bout right, if a bit less available to the average fella. And this is sure enough the USA... but apparently Davey Crockett died at the Alamo without ever becoming president or kicking the Euros out of Mexico. The techmen here claim a "portal" was prob'ly what happened, which is something they can't help with, as the tech is highly restricted after two inter-world wars. Well that's swell for THEM.... Still, there's enough a feel of home (Euro culture intrusion aside) that stickin' 'round for a while don't seem too harsh. And there's something here called the "Citizen Crime Fighting Act," which basically means an Elite Marshal can still uphold the law, complete with all issued equipment, even if the badge itself don't mean nothing here. If I prove myself worth their trust, they might even let me check out their "Portal Corps" and find a way home. Reckon this'll be an interesting experience...
