This young man's development as a mutant came later in life than most others. Reacting to a chemical found in an experimental soil he developed as an ecologist, he was transformed into a human-plant hybrid: a "photosynthian" able to metabolize energy from sunlight and grow roots into the ground to sustain himself. It is possible for him to channel any excess energy he stores into energy blasts.
