Michael Secton's body has metamorphosed into a stunted, insect-like form. His voice was the first thing to change: he can now only speak at a vocal frequency especially audible to insects. He gained the ability to communicate with humans and other sentient beings through "hiving", a form of telepathy, or by writing on a pad of paper that he keeps with him at all times.
  He originally worked with the Aerial Avengers, the Hiveminded felt out of place as an only insect among countless birds. He currently is helping shape the New Age Mutants' surging presence in the City.
