The being now known as Sandsweight used to be human: a forsaken pilot who crashed his plane in a desert ruin. Magics unknown bound the dying man's soul to a soul ruby, and his body melded with the sand to become a golem of untold power. The gem is precious to him, as should it be stolen from him or shattered, his soul would be lost and his sand body robbed of its animation.  
He still retains the sense of his humanity, but this leads to inner crisis as he attempts to decipher why he is still allowed to "live" in his current form. Having put aside the stigma he felt he carried from his time spent in the Rogue Isles as a victim of circumstance, Sandsweight carries on his search for answers as an esteemed hero rather than a vagabond.
