Richard Macallon was, without surprise to his heroic parents, a born mutant: exhibiting leonine facial features and a tail, highly developed senses and the ability to magnify and project his voice. Despite the fact that he personally saw his genetics and powers as a shortcoming, he nevertheless went on to complete a degree in law at Steel Canyon University and poised himself to enter the police force.
The shocking murder of his mother was devastating to Richard, with his resulting depression being a main reason why he narrowly missed PPD candidacy. When his father presented him with his gravity manipulating bands, Richard gained new resolve and swore to take up his father's heroic trade as Constelleon.
Although outwardly stern, he is very trusting of others and does not take betrayal lightly. He looks down on other's boastful behaviours.
