Magnus Hiller was new to being a husband, new to being a father, and new to being a police officer when he was offered the undercover assignment. His family needed the money, so he accepted.

Placed in an illegal meta-human brawling ring, he was given the name 'Mauler' after a few brutal fights that garnered the attention of the Trolls.

Magnus did his best avoiding the drugs, but he had to take some from time to time to avoid suspicions.

His wife left him, fearing for her life after a very loud argument. In his grief Magnus overdosed on Superadyne and became the very thing he was hunting.
