I was gawking. Mouth open, eyes glassy, and gawking. Like one of those mouth breathers from school. Kaylee just laughed at me.

"Looks like someone's got a girl crush."

My mouth snapped shut and I looked at her, still in awe. "I'd heard the stories about her, but she's so... impressive in person. I kinda wish I could be like her."

"Well, she's rich, popular, smart, and gorgeous. The only thing she's got on you Dee is superpowers."

I kept my mouth shut after that. Still in awe at meeting Ms. Liberty, there was no way I could bring up the whole 'but I do have superpowers' thing with my best friend.

My parents would disown me if they found out I was a mutant, let alone fighting crime. So I work in secret, as the masked heroine Girl Crush.

Someday I'll be like Ms. Liberty. Someday that'll be someone else in awe. Now I just have to earn it.
