Character Bio

Trinitite, also known as Atomsite or Alamogordo Glass, is the name given to the glassy residue left on the desert floor after the plutonium-based Trinity nuclear bomb test on July 16, 1945, near Alamogordo, New Mexico. In the late 1940s and early 1950s, samples were gathered and sold to mineral collectors as a novelty. 

Hamlin Meridian's Great Uncle was one such collector and had many samples littering his home. Hamlin's father, Alvin, spent hours as a young boy playing with his Uncle's collection. No one realized how much Alvin's DNA had been affected until Hamlin was born.

Hamlin was originaly assumed to have Down's Syndrome because of his facial distortions but it was learned later that he was not only exceptionally bright, but had exceptional powers as well.  Because of his family's support and caring Hamlin chose to use his abilities to help others, eventually becoming the hero Alamagordo Glass.
