What General Graham wanted was simple-- a single entry point into communication and intelligence networks that he could mercilessly exploit. His good friend, Reginald Deavers, representative for Corro Genetics, was in a position to provide. After all, Corro specialized in 'gennies', custom genetically engineered entities.

A preadolescent girl was tank-gestated as per contract. Her cybernetic brain was supposedly capable of everything General Graham wanted, including direct interface with RIFLE. Of course Deavers didn't feel the need to bother Graham with minor details like instability in the gene-sequencing process or Corro's record of mutations.

Captain Patrick had other plans. He seized the girl before Corro could deliver. Now he and Frederika, as he named her, live in hiding. They certainly won't be able to stay that way for long.
