Most children bring home injured animals, hoping against hope that their parents can do something to save the doomed wildlife.

In the archdemon Desemphecles' case, when his eight year old human daughter demanded to know the spell to bind a dying kitten's life force to her own, he had little choice but to act. His demonic resolve had already been almost crushed by his angelic wife and darling daughter.

Despite the trouble it would cause, Desemphecles instructed his daughter.

Accordingly, Nylarthotep the kitten is a strange amalgam of spectral and living being. Her living body is part and parcel of her mistress'. She has borrowed her mistress' temporal form and is determined to rid the world of automobiles.
