following the defeat of his former mistress, and his release from bondage to her, "brik" quietly made his way out of the lands he had lived and slaved in for so many years. true, now that he was free, he could have stayed and made a new life for himself - if it hadn't been for those children. the four who were foretold to occupy the kingdom's thrones, empty those many long years while his mistress held sway over the lands and kept it in her icy grip, had spared no effort hunting down those who had helped the witch, be they willing participants or no. the time for self-recriminations was long past - would that he could have fled when the mistress first found the boy, he would become one of the four along with his brother and sisters. but her cold grip had held him tighter than the chill of fear tearing at his very soul when he realized that her time was drawing to a close. but, that time was long past him now - somehow, he had acquired the means to leave that world, to begin his life anew elsewhere..
