Ragnarok? The twilight of the great Norse gods? It came about with more of a whimper than the bang they had long expected. In-fighting, jealousy, paranoia, betrayal. All it brought about was the destruction that they were trying so hard to avoid.

Odin betrayed us. Betrayed his Valkyries. They are all long dead, but I survived. He had sent us to our deaths to take down Thor, to steal his greatest weapon: Mjolnir. We were never truly meant to succeed, only to weaken Thor enough for Odin to kill him. I succeeded, rising over the dead bodies of my beloved sisters, taking in his power with his death.

Odin came. He was quite surprised to see me, Mjolnir in hand. As he betrayed us, I did the same. I destroyed him as I had Thor. The Hammer has changed, formed a sharp edge, just as my soul has.

The darkness inside me grows, devouring every part of the light. I welcome it as I will welcome death when it comes, even if it is at the hands of one of the few remaining gods I used to serve.
