Character Bio

A dutiful, supportive priest, Derek Scott?s life was devotion to his church and parishioners. But flames inexplicably burst from his outstretched palms during a fateful Sunday service. Shocked, he ran from the pulpit to protect his flock, isolating himself in the sacristy. When he had calmed down, he tried to open the door, finding it locked. He had not heard the unimaginable goings on outside, had not smelled the fumes and smoke now emanating from the door. But he found himself unharmed by the devastating fire.

He looked at the trappings of his religion, sanctuary from the wicked world outside, and felt utterly abandoned by his ?God?. His flames turned dark and sinister, his tears boiling away as quickly as they streamed out. And unbounded rage welled in him at this cowardly, terrible act, as he emerged from the conflagration with now unholy fire streaming from his hands. ?Go in Peace, my child,? he repeated 133 times that day, until his thirst for vengeance was slaked. Pacified. Briefly.
