Character Bio

John VanDersaal was a Harvard Medical School graduate with degrees in bio-chemistry and pharmaceuticals. After a few years working for a major pharmaceutical company he realized that he was not seeing any of the profits for his efforts and decided to branch out on his own into "recreational pharmaceuticals." Realizing he needed protection he started hiring some of the toughest gangbangers he could find.
Eventually he came to the attention of a fledgeling superhero and had a small battle which ended in the hero's death due to some of the more toxic chemicals in John's lab. During the battle the hero called him a bad dose for the city and Jon took that as his name. He also took the hero's uniform which had inbuilt flight technology.
He relocated to the Rogue Isle's since he heard that Freedom Phalanx was now interested in him. Almost immediately he was contacted by Arachnos and put on their payroll as a freelance mercenary. He is currently hiring local thugs to assist him.
