Jay was a family man, had a wife and 2 kids, 1 daughter and 1 son. He loved the Earth they lived on, but more importantly, he loved volcanoes. After highschool he went to college to become a geologist, but focusing on volcanoes. At age 25 he created a voncanic suit of armor, designed to with stand the temperatures and pressures of lava. He had been testing it off and on using drones for years. At 28 he made some alterations and did some more tests. When he turned 30, he did the first 
live testing. He didn't get far before the suit lost power and he combusted. Leaving everyone to believe he was dead. However he has self-conciously placed himself in a coma, keeping his body safe in a cacone of molten rock. When the volcano erupted he became Rocky Flames.
