In his life . . . before, Ashfall was a promising entrepreneur who had an idea for a power source that could revolutionize the world and free it from its dependence on oil. Just as his company was beginning to realize the potential of its founder's idea, Ashfall found that the money backing his company had come from Arachnos. When an agent of the Arachnos demanded the secrets to his energy source, Ashfall refused. He was in the process of gathering his notes and papers to take them to the authorities when an explosion destroyed Ashfall's laboratory! The blast infused Ashfall's skin with chemicals in the lab along with the energy source, turning his skin transparent but making it incredibly strong and capable of releasing energy in the form of fire. With his life destroyed like his skin, Ashfall wages a never-ending battle with the forces of Arachnos.
