Character Bio

Anastasia Alexandrei was a common girl living in the Komi Republic of Russia up until she turned seventeen. It was then that her dreams of a life of love and family went up in a literal cloud of smoke. May 23, 2002 is a day that many recall vividly -- the same is true for Anastasia.

A number of armed Rikti invaders surrounded the apartment complex that she and her parents were living in, and in a blaze of plasma, sent the structure tumbling down. There were no survivors save for Anastasia. The method of her survival was perplexing, however.

Countless roots had seemingly emerged from the ground to act as a barrier between her body and the rubble. It seemed the roots had even pierced her flesh to press on. Injured but alive, Anastasia's body began to undergo a strange transformation. Natural toxins flowed within her body without poisoning her own bloodstream and slits opened in her skin from which countless thorns would emerge.

The nature of her powers confused her, but her purpose was clear: revenge.
