Long ago, the humans came for Mama and smashed up most of her eggs. Mama never had a chance even with our feared Dragon's Rage on her side; the humans brought the power of faith, hatred and numbers against her and with so many swarming her, their pitiful weapons were murderous. She was the last who refused to blend in, to retreat, to become less.

She died. She was stupid. Her death was the warning to all of our kind. We had to evolve.

The humans stole my egg; a testament to my mixed bloodline, it was gold and red with veins of black, but greedy eyes saw only gold. Daddy tracked my egg down, rescued me and threw my egg into a volcano so that I could hatch; then he taught me to shapeshift & how to hide my true self amongst my prey. Satisfied with what he wrought, he let me loose upon this strange world.
