A true prodigy, Melinda Wells graduated from college at 19 and was a millionaire by 26. Little did anyone suspect that Melinda achieved it all by using her mutant psionic abilities. Until the day that Sister Psyche appeared in her corporate office.

Sister Psyche confronted Melinda about her mental powers. She had need of her and would not take "no" for an answer. Melinda knew that Sister Psyche would make a powerful enemy and couldn't risk being revealed.

Reluctantly, she agreed to help Sister Psyche. Only after the adventure was over did she realize what a powerful thrill being a hero could be. She loved the challenge. So she fashioned a costume and adopted the name, "Cogitare", which is latin for to think.
