Character Bio

Vanessa Friese was Countess Crey's lead cosmetic engineer. This former model and scientific genius was trying to discover an anti-aging formula. With no significant breakthroughs, Vanessa was removed from the project and subsequently fired.
Seeking finances to further her work, she took a job taking care of the eccentric millionaire Winston Rutherford. This was the perfect oppurtunity to exploit his wealth to unlock the "fountain of youth."
Upon hearing of the mutagen that caused Frost Heave's transformation that granted him regenerative qualities, she quickly started isolating and purifying the cryo-chemical responsible.
In her final betrayal of Winston's trust, she submerged him into the chemicals. Winston emerged with the ability to encase himself in ice and regenerate. Winston's psychosis manifested itself as the hero Baron Tundra.
Pleased with the result, Vanessa bathed herself in the chemicals. The compound granted her the power project ice and slowed her aging process. Vanity Freeze was born.
