Character Bio

As a member of PPD, Matthew Shepherd chafed at department policies prohibiting involvement in superhuman criminal activity. The PPD were instructed to contact HQ to arrange superhero intervention and perform crowd control. He pleaded with his superiors to establish a program for training officers to fight gangs such as Hellions and Skulls.

One night as he trudged back to his small apartment in Kings Row, he grew angrier and angrier at the sight of his neighbors as they hurried home before dark. He fashioned a kevlar costume and began to patrol the night streets. Eventually he came to the attention of Blue Steel, who was so impressed by his will and determination, that he began training him and arranged for him to train with Back Alley Brawler.

Now, using an ancient technique for channelling his chi for feats of remarkable strenght he patrols the nights fulltime as The Midnight Sheph
