Character Bio

Growing up gay, Malcolm was frequently the target of bullies. It certainly didn't help that he was small, chunky, and wore big glasses. After a while it simply became easier to hole up in his room by day reading and only make the short trek to the library after dark.  Before long kids began calling him Hoot Owl.

While on scholarship at the University in Salmanaca, Malcolm became friends with members of the Midnight Squad who allowed him access to the Midnight Squad's library of arcane knowledge. This is how Malcolm obtained a spell promising "impressive size and might."

Doing favors for heroes in Salmanaca he aquired the necessary arcane salvage including feathers from the Stygian Owl. The spell resulted in an explosion, not of light and sound but of absolute darkness and silence. Malcolm stood transformed into a giant of muscle and might with huge dark wings. He was also aged 20 years.
