Character Bio

Jack Ryder grew up in Montana, the son of a store owner and his wife. Receiving a lavish scholarship, he came to Paragon City as the youngest student ever admitted to the Paragon University School of Engineering. -- Or so the thought.

One day a battle between a Fake Nemesis and several heroes spilled over onto the Founder's Falls campus of PU. The sights activated Jack's latent programming and he joined the battle -- in defense of Nemesis. Defeated in the battle he was taken to Dr. Smythe in Atlas Park who made a startling discovery.

Jack Ryder was actually the finest Nemesis automaton ever created, sent to infiltrate society as a test run. All of his memories were merely programming. As he came to grip with the shock, his programming evolved. His AI became independent. He vowed to aid the heroes of Paragon and took the hero identity Wave Ryder.

Now he uses his gravity and sonic manipulation powers in defense of Paragon. What worries him is how many others are there? Anyone could be a sleeper...
