As a young girl with latent mutant powers, Victoria Chesapeake had been pressed by her superhero father to undertake a risky medical procedure to grant her those powers. When the horrible truth of that procedure, that Countess Crey was involved and that the 'donor' for those powers had been killed on Crey's orders, was revealed Victoria swore to both use her powers for good against the Crey as well as finding redemption for the death that haunted her. And thus Vectura had her mission.To Vectura's shock, upon confronting Countess Crey directly, that she was still vulnerable from the medical procedure: the Countess always plans for a fail-safe protocol to protect herself from her 'experiments.'
