From the Victorian age of another world, one populated by intelligent animal people...

She was once a young schoolteacher and an aspiring scientist, until an encounter with an ancient evil known as Count Bryant Drakul left her scarred... and changed. Pushed aside by her husband, who refused to touch her after the attack, her life, by the standards of Victorian England, was over.

That is, until she was found by a Mr. Campion Bond of the Secret Intelligence Service, who wished to put her intellect and... unique abilities to use. She was to lead an assemblage of singularly notable individuals, as the latest incarnation of Great Britain's oldest team of metahumans... the League of Extraordinary Gentlefurs.

But through their adventures and an encounter with a mysterious individual known only as 'The Time Traveller,' the League has found itself here, in 21st century America's Paragon City, on this world of hairless apes....
