Set to watch Cassius Lumens, a Peacebringer captured a century before, maj. Carinae saw the duty for what it was. Dismissal by the Nictus and sexism by the Council, combined into menial duty for her. Never mind that she was the reason several of them were still alive... Admittedly, her Nictus had been having doubts about the war, the enslavement and eradication of the Kheldians. When the energy started fading from Cassius's prison, she hesitated. He talked. She listened. And when he escaped, she went with him - no longer Nictus but Warshade.
