Character Bio

Sam Smith was there the day Ridolfo Uzzano ceased to be a human. As part of the group of adventurers who had chased Ridolfo into the caves near Ravenna, he confronted the madman and helped in the attempt to put an end to his schemes but was injured as the strange energy which engulfed Ridolfo also lashed out and struck Sam. Left weary by the attack, Sam thought perhaps he had become infected with some sort of wasting disease and returned to his native America afraid that he might be dieing. Little did he know that he had been infused with a tiny portion of the nictus that had attacked Ridolfo. The initial assimilation process left Sam weak but in time he realized something had changed in him, not only did he perform at the peak of human ability, Sam also aged considerably slower. Serving special ops during WWII Sam would encounter Ridolfo again as Reqium. After the war Sam continued as a costumed hero until he retired in the late 50's.
