Character Bio

Glennis Johnson grew up normally in Clear Lake City, Texas. A tomboy, she preferred athletics to her studies. She showed little academic interest in her parents' careers as aerospace engineers (her mother with NASA, her father with Boeing), but she loved watching the F-16s out at Ellington Field. To go so fast must be a joy! She decided to be a pilot, but she continued to be lax in her studies. At age 14, she noticed that her body was changing in some unexpected ways. She was speeding up. This made for some awkward teenage moments--especially on dates. At age 16, she discovered that she could greatly speed up the frequencies of sounds she produced, using her voice to cause physical damage. She began to consider a new career--superhero. And where to go to do that? Paragon City, of course. She was accepted into PCU. Her parents and her Uncle Jack, a wunderkind at the secret 'skunkworks', created her a low-friction suit and a tiny pressurization unit. She named herself after the first supersonic aircraft.
