Character Bio

Though born a mutant, Johnathan Neville always saw himself as handicapped, socially if not physically. He could manipulate shadow, but had an allergic reaction to sunlight and was uncomfortable in bright light.

In early 2002, he was working the night shift, doing his best to keep out of the light, literally and figuratively. He met and joined a group of mutants who were mostly shadow shapers, known as the Darklings. He knew how to hide and track; the Darklings taught him to fight and kill. While they were all his friends, he became involved with their leader, a girl named Branwen.

In May the Rikti invaded and the Darklings joined Vanguard. Their unit contributed to the war effort as best they could and gained a reputation for ruthless efficiency. After the War, Longbow ambushed and arrested them for earlier crimes. Branwen and John escaped separately. Working out of Sharkhead now, John bides his time while searching for his lost lover.
