Maxgrey Bent's mutant abilities developed at an early age: fostered by the child's vivid imagination and a penchant for cloudwatching, and finally brought to the forefront by family tragedy. Facing persecution in Churchill, Manitoba, he fled southward, ultimately arriving in Paragon City.
  Although he once avoided interaction with others, Max has slowly gained confidence in himself, but still has a hard time with making his innermost feelings known. At 17 years of age, his youth is a clear sign of his innocence and his fears.
As the Cumulatrole, his mutant power is the ability to transform completely into a gaseous, cloud-like state: a form whose size and shape can be controlled at his will. He is able to generate natural wind, rain and lightning to blast at his foes. No matter his current state, he can also fly, but is often subjected to the force of powerful winds when in his cloud form.
