Character Bio

The son of Praetorian hero Jessica O'Houlihan, AKA War Cat, and her high school roommate Amber Noah, Derek O'Houlihan inherited his father's gelatinous body and shapeshifting talent, though his base form resembles his werelion mother. The young teen returned to Primal Earth with his mother after her last visit, hoping to put his body-shaping abilities to use as a hero.

Eager for revenge against War Cat, Positron's doppelganger attacked through a portal of his own as the family was exiting theirs. Derek was caught in a powerful energy blast, that disrupted and disintegrated his form. Unable to heal like his mother and unskilled at replenishing mass like his father, he seemed about to die when a Kheldian, Brightblade, reached out to him. The pair bonded, and now known as BrightShard, they are slowly relearning their abilities.
