Beneath the facade of Freedom Corps' whitewashed superhero image, strange things have always been afoot. Their powerful Longbow Wardens didn't inherit their amazing abilities naturally; they were artificially augmented by serums and magicks of dubious origin. For every successful new breed of supersoldier, there are more that have been crippled or driven mad by their physical and mental transformations.

This young candidate was selected for a trial of a new serum derived from the extract of a toxic plant that was purported as having curative properties. The purpose was to use a mutated strain of the herb to impart empathic healing ability and increased cellular regeneration. It didn't work out the way they wanted.

In a fit of serum induced derangement, their subject lashed out in paranoid rage and killed everyone in the lab via vine strangulation. Escaping immediately afterwards, she was not seen again until she was IDed with an emerging group of female mercenaries called the Daughters of Artemis.
