Jemmeline Soros was only eight when she was murdered, on the streets of St. Martial. Her father, a judge under the pay of the Mooks, had failed to come through on releasing two of their hoodlums. In retaliation, his child, Jemmy, was murdered.

And this was not the end. Jemmy was a latent mutant, whose powers erupted only AFTER her death. Her dead eyes opened on the morgue autopsy table, as she froze the blood of the surgeon who had begun to slice her open.

Confused, dazed, she ran into the streets, and hid. And as her mind tried to reassert itself post-mortem, she grew... detached. Cold.

Her father's love ushered her into this world. Her hatred for this world keeps her in it.
