Character Bio

John Drake was a hero without a cause. Naturally gifted with a sword, he donned a mask and fought crime but his heart wasn't in it. He couldn't defend himself in time when a wannabe-supervillain torched him with a prototype flamethrower suit.

With most of his body destroyed, John was only ever going to live with a full-body prosthesis. Fortunately, one of his early successes was the rescue of billionaire industrialist Tony Kord. Kord designed and built a robotic exoskeleton with a holster for a new impervium sword. The Iron Frame was born. He couldn't have a life outside the frame, but he had a whole new lease of life.

After time, Kord built a "sleek" suit-all the improvements of the original frame, but capable of wearing clothes and passing for human, though at a distance. When adventuring in Faultline, the frame was damaged in a crash. Working with Drake, Kord built a Hazardous Environment frame, or HEV. Using the HEV, John solved the mystery behind the destruction of Faultline.
