Character Bio

In 1896, Dr. Johan Hesselstein hit upon the secret to eternal life. With a complex mixture of chemical solutions, tissue augmentation, and organ replacement, he suspended his own life indefinitely. Unfortunately, his unorthodox procedures were deemed blasphemous and unethical by the ignorant masses, and he was forced into retreat, leaving his laboratory behind to be destroyed.

For over a hundred years, he has kept himself hidden away in cryostasis. Recently, however, the good doctor was reawoken by happenstance explorers. Having discovered that even modern society despises his "unnatural" existence, he has been forced to conclude that humanity simply will never accept the genius of his practices.

However, he has some hope. He has met Dr. Alexandra Cooper, herself something of a scientific outcast. The two spoke at length and found each other quite kindred spirits, in a way. Thus, they have allied for the time being with the goal of forcing fundamental truth upon the ignorant masses of humanity.
