Character Bio

The unexpected result of a fee-based liason between an American soldier and
a teahouse Geisha in post-war Japan, Ringa was born a takokujin, literally a
stranger, or "foreign devil" within Japanese society.

Her life-long struggle against the loathsome Japanese racial prejudice which
resulted in her ostracism and complete isolation; the squalid atmosphere of
intrigue and betrayal that lies at the core of nipponese society; crushing poverty
and abject sense of hopelessness that comes from not being treated as human;
culminated in her becoming the undisputed master of kamidesu ("The Wind of
Death") and the gyoushou of house Tokei.
