Helen used to just be another college girl. She wasn't the usual college type, though. When other girls wanted ponies growing up, Helen wanted new dice. When most girls worried about what they were going to wear to the prom, Helen used her cash to buy new BattleTech terrain. While her collegemates worried about grades and boys (or other girls--hey, it's the 00's), Helen took pride in her gaming library. Helen's idea of a date is a LAN party gathered around playing Warcraft III.

Ebonfire. His very name struck fear on a thousand destroyed worlds. But now, something was different. Recently, he'd been struck with...guilt. And he wanted to make amends. Here, on this backwater planet called, creatively enough, Earth, he sought a suitable host--no, partner, with which to redeem himself.

Ebonfire came upon a young woman. She lay in a state of half-sleep. Her thoughts swam with battle strategies and maximization of potential. This warrior would do well!
