Character Bio

Therena Mistral quickly gained fame for her groundbreaking research in thermodynamics and entropy theory--and a Nobel prize in physics. And so it caused quite a stir within the scientific community when she passed up far more lucrative offers to return to her roots and establish her own lab in the Rogue Isles. In truth, she simply wanted the freedom to pursue science without dealing with local fears that her work might vaporize all life within 50 miles (29.46% chance), or create a black hole and consume the world (safe at 14.63%).

At MIT, she was called frigid and dubbed the Winter Belle by lesser minds more interested in playing musical genitalia than conducting serious research. When she decided to covertly field-test the effects of her work on undesireables, it seemed the perfect nom de plume.
