Even then, young as I was, I knew what was happening. Floating in that tank, I could understand what that huge golden madman was saying - calling me a "perfect specimen", speaking of me like I was no more than a shell for his ambitions. He'd seen the future, he said, and I had great potential. He was right, but not in the way he thought.
It was Lord Redoubt that found me. I'd seen him on the TV; a giant of a man with blazing eyes and a roaring lion across his chest, his broadsword cut a swathe through the automatons. He knew someone that could look after me, keep me hidden. Two days later I was with Janus in the Greek mountains. A week later Lord Redoubt was dead - shot by a Nacht sniper. Janus told me that he'd trained Lord Redoubt. He kept me there for fifteen years, equipping me to defend myself from the forces that pursued me still. He said I was a fast learner, but I'd probably still be there if Nemesis hadn't forced the issue with a frontal assault. Now is the time to take the fight to him.w
