At the apex of their Revenant Hero Project, Crey Biotech secretly began the development of the 10th generation of Paragon Protectors.
And they began with one of the most powerful heroes in Paragon: Chloe Jordan, aka Electro-Cute.

The goal was to manipulate the genetic material and create a clone that could outdo the original hero.
After 16 failed attempts, they were finally able to bring a clone to full growth. EC-17, as the creature was codenamed, was indeed stronger than Electro-Cute herself, gifted with new psychic powers, enhanced reflexes and improved resistance.

But something clearly went wrong in the process, since EC-17 also retained some fragments of Chloe's memories, which rendered her mentally unstable and extremely unreliable.

At the first opportunity, she slaughtered all the staff of the Crey facility she was confined in and fled to the Rogue Isles.

There, Ghost Widow immediately perceived her potential, and had her recruited in the rows of her own personal assassins army, the Night Widows.
