Character Bio

Dr. Elisabeth Franz was a psychoanalyst who specialized in dream analysis. She
learned how to induce dreams in her patients by using verbal and body language
cues. In this trance-like state the patient's own physical processes could be directed to
accelerate healing, both mental and physical. Dr. Franz was preparing to announce
her methods to the world when one of her patients suffered a psychotic break while
in the trance state. He went berserk and attacked her. Instinctively she lashed out at
him, dealing a tremendous psychological blow. His body folded like limp doll as if he
had been hit by a bus. Fortunately most of the damage was illusory, and he
recovered quickly. But Dr. Franz realized that the world was not ready for such
knowledge. There were too many who would abuse the technique. And she could no
longer treat her patients with the method; some of them had become excessively
devoted to her, to the point of stalking her. Thus, she decided to use her powers to
defend the city.
